Power plants retrofit activities: design of the plant and start-up / commissioning

Projects:

Power plants retrofit activities: DeNOx: Monfalcone Power Plant, Umm Al Houl Combined Cycle Power plant, Litoral Power plant, Polaniec Power plant, Long Phu Power plant, Sugozu Power Plant. DeSOx: Mariupol Sinter plant, Pocheon Power Plant

Process Engineer:

I take part in the design of the plant carrying out the calculations to identify the suitable components and to define the size of the piping and the reactor. I produce the required documentation, taking care of writing datasheets, drawing the P&IDs and of compiling the line/valve/equipment list.
I support the senior staff in the selection of the suppliers and in the comparison of the offers. I am gaining experience in risk analysis, Hazop and evaluation of explosive areas.
I take part in the fluid dynamical study of deflectors and mixers defining technical specifications, running CFD simulations and supervising the staff involved in these activities.
I collaborate with the automation department to define the process sequences and the procedures for the automatic control of the plant.
I work in contact with the project engineering to define the time schedule, meet the deadlines and attend the meetings to propose technical solutions to the client.

Activities on site:

In the commissioning, I'm involved in the functional tests and in the fine tuning activities. In particular
I define and schedule the tests to perform interacting with the plant staff and I coordinate and supervise the plant technicians during on site operations.
I analyse and report the data to discuss with the engineering team to verify that the required performance has been met or to identify further corrective actions.
In this respect, I took care of the tuning of ammonia injection grids, emission control systems, air heating and ammonia evaporation units and in the revamping of ID fans.
