job description the head of quality control.
manages a local small team of people that works both as a local technical team to provide asian makers with necessary approvals to proceed bulk as well as provide qc inspections for some selected vendors based near the company office.
supervises the work of third-party inspection centers in based china and bangladesh assuring they are constantly aligned with the company quality standards.
oversees the daily tech.
team / qc schedule allocating manpower and resources.
coordinate correct timing with the local merchandising teams that provide vendors with product development approvals so that the production schedule is met.
coalesce our hq in defining the necessary solutions to the technical problems that arise during the development of samples/production.
support the planning department in italy to ensure the production schedule information provided by our vendors is realistic and accurate.
holds regular pre-production meetings with vendors to draw the season's quality guidelines.
holds post-production meetings with each vendor to assess the quality data measured for each season defining the next steps.
evaluates vendor capabilities and personally approves the use of subcontractors, guaranteeing that are in line with the quality and safety standards required by the company.

competenze ed esperienza the ideal head of quality control has.
a strong technical knowledge of garment manufacturing technology and its processes.
previous experience in working overseas for extended periods is necessary, ideally based in china or bangladesh, as an understanding of local cultures is necessary for the position.
the capability and the standing of guiding vendors and the resources assigned.
a pragmatic / problem-solving attitude.
a great autonomy of management and the ability to self-set the daily initiatives since the position reporting will be hq-direct.
the attitude to drive initiatives at every moment across the local office and with the asian vendors.
an analytical number-driven mind.
at least a basic knowledge of ms office tools.
proficient knowledge of english language (both a must-have).
