Job Summary The   production supervisor is accountable for leading and supervising shop employees to meet production schedules in a   manufacturing and assembly environment.
This role plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in   production   methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Actively leads production workers to execute production schedules for maximum efficiency and on-time delivery, incorporating safety and environmental initiatives to achieve world class performance.
Demonstrates knowledge of all production processes and equipment, manages inventory of point of use materials, and monitors and resolves material usage variances.
Understands all production related documents (SOP’s, BOM’s, Quality Standards, etc.) and helps to keep them current and accurate.
Understands, effectively utilizes and interfaces with the MRP system (QAD).
Manages operational metrics to achieve site targets and support continuous improvement.
Leads and manages an assigned area of production in accordance with the QMS (Quality Management System) with a strong focus on safety.
Leads and coaches direct and indirect reports.
Sets and communicates expectations of team members and monitors their performance.
Develops action plans for training and people development of the team.
Understands all environmental policies and the significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance to the ISO standard.
Completes other related projects as assigned.
¿Este trabajo es para ti? Essential Functions Spends time on production floor – knows processes, equipment and people.
Monitors performance and achieves objectives for Safety, Quality, Environmental and Efficiency of work within the production floor while shipping quality products to meet on-time delivery dates.
Establishes personnel schedules to achieve the production schedule.
Directly manages production activities and people within an assigned area.
Leads and develops employees.
Sets and communicates expectations and monitors performance.
Understands MRP system and all production related documents; helps to keep them current and accurate.
Manages inventory of point of use materials, and monitors and resolves material usage variances.
Drives Continuous Improvement, Safety Initiatives and 5S activities.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree is required, in Engineering is preferred.
Associate’s degree plus 5 or more years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
5+ years of experience in a Supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment is required.
Aerospace Preferred.
5+ years of demonstrated experience in developing teams and individual employees is required.
2+ years management in a manufacturing environment Lean Manufacturing, WCM, 6Sigma and 5S methodology and application Leadership Skills.
Team leader and collaborator.
Self-motivated with a sense of urgency to meet commitments & deadlines with limited direct supervision.
Customer focused (internal & external) with excellent conflict resolution skill set.
