Project/product manager

Product manager specialized in Industrial Engine (Diesel, Natural Gas, Hybrid) and Driveline (Axles and Transmissions) for On Road Vehicle (focus on Public Transport Vehicles).
Francesco has the task and the target to investigate the Product Market, identifying new business opportunities for the company.
•	Voice Of the Customers (VoC) projects,  recognize customer needs and product requirements, in order to properly address product development and future innovations.
•	Company’s product marketing plans, with product positioning and benchmarking, identifying relevant market drivers (Performance/TCO/Quality and Reliability).
•	Market share and competitors analysis in order to evaluate market trend/evolutions (Emission standards/alternative fuels/combustion and after treatment solutions).
•	Provide technical training to Sales and Communication departments to improve products offers and promotions.
•	Attendance at exhibitions/fairs by providing technical support for product launches to customers.
The activities result to be strategic in Sales negotiation and to support Management Committee.

Project coordinator for new testing facilities. Francesco had the responsibility for the Capital Expenditure related to the annual investments plan. 
Areas of competence include structures, electrical, electronic, pneumatic/hydraulic systems and
measuring instruments (Automation Suite for Test bench, Dynameters for Engines and for Powertrain, Power and Torque Measurement, Combustion Measurements, Consumption Measurements (Air mass flow, fuel flow), Emission Measurements, Actuators).
Duties include:
•	Definition of requirements according to customers’ needs;
•	 Technical specification preparations and evaluation of suppliers;
•	Construction management (commissioning included).
The most relevant project has been related to the realization of a Climatic Test Cell with Altitude simulator. Total value of the works: 2 M€.

Inside Testing Facilities department Francesco worked for the development and the management of technical innovation of the testing plant:
•	Development of TFM (Testing Facilities Management) application for Plant efficiency calculation based on KPI (Key Performance Indicator).
•	Re-layout of areas for the optimization of operational flows.
These activities have given improvements in efficiency and workflow.

As part of Technical Customer Service department, Francesco worked for engine applications related to
Industrial Vehicles (On Road/Off Road), Marine, Rail and Power Generation. Duties included: 
•	Product Request evaluation, 
•	Management of Technical Engine Manuals,
•	Technical Training for customers’ networks.
Most of the activities have been performed for worldwide customers.

In the transmission product engineering team, Francesco worked as Assistant Chief Engineer to coordinate the External Shifter production for Manual/Automatic Transmissions.
Main duties include:
•	Oversee technical departments: Design, Testing, and external Suppliers to satisfy the product development process;
•	Guarantee Time Cost and Performances during product development program;
•	New study request cases;
•	Provide Technical Documentations for planning activities;
•	Perform status monitoring to troubleshoot product failures during tests/operations.
Fiat 500L and Fiat Viaggio (China Market) have been the main projects to which I contributed until the launch of production.

Inside the Advanced Engineering Team, Francesco worked to development of a Mild-Hybrid Diesel Engine for passenger cars.
Main Duties include: 
•	Engine test bench set-up (Engine and After treatment system);
•	Testing campaign with homologation Cycle NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) aimed to analyze and evaluate the contribution of the hybrid system provides to the diesel engine in order to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of pollutants.
The fulfilled target was to setup the test cell in the best condition able to constantly replicate the tests.
