ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to support all aspects of agronomic operations at Tenuta Toscana.
This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional eager to advance their career in a high-performance environment.
The Assistant Superintendent will help ensure that all maintenance practices meet Tenuta Toscana’s world-class standards Main duties and responsibilities Assist in daily supervision of turfgrass management, irrigation, pest control, and landscaping operations.
Help implement agronomic programs designed to deliver premium playing conditions consistently.
Lead and train maintenance staff under the guidance of the Superintendent to foster teamwork and skill development.
Assist in equipment maintenance and scheduling of work crews to maximize productivity.
Monitor course conditions and recommend adjustments to cultural practices and resource use.
Participate in irrigation system management, ensuring efficiency and water conservation.
Support preparation and maintenance for tournaments, special events, and seasonal projects.
Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, golf operations, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination Requirements Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in golf course maintenance, with some supervisory responsibilities preferred.
Strong understanding of turfgrass science, irrigation systems, pest management, and equipment use.
Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
Ability to work long hours in various weather conditions, including weekends and holidays during peak seasons.
Proficiency in English required; knowledge of Italian is advantageous.
