We are looking for a talented and experienced FEM Design Engineer expected to support design of aviation engine/transmission accessories by performing structural finite element analysis and interpret obtained results.
The position requires important involvement into technical assessment and component development through a deep collaboration with the Engineering departments.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities The FEM Design Engineer will be part of Controls and Accessories Engineering team.
Support design of engine components by finite element analysis tools and other analytical methods to meet internal and external customer requirements Finite element models preparation (Mesh Boundary Conditions and Loads application) of engine metal components Ansys HyperMesh or equivalent Perform structural FE analysis aimed to meet strength and life requirements Ansys Results postprocessing and interpretation Document technical reports and data archiving Participate and lead technical reviews with senior engineers and program leaders Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure product performance and safety Develop and execute new ideas for engineering processes improvements and simplification Analytical support and substantiation of manufacturing non conformances Qualifications/Requirements Masters degree of Science in Engineering.
Mechanical Aerospace Physics or related STEM field from an accredited university Robust technical knowledge of aviation engine components fatigue mechanics and finite element methodology Experience in structural finite element model analysis (Ansys HyperWorks HyperMesh HyperView or equivalent) Practical use of MS Office (Excel Power Point Outlook) Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes and material application in aviation industry Fundamental knowledge of CAD (Unigraphics modeling) and Geometrical Dimensional & Tolerancing (GD&T) Great accountability/collaboration & interpersonal/communication skills Capability to interface with internal departments and to manage technical relationship with external companies suppliers and customers English and Italian fluent knowledge Work Visa in accordance with local regulation is required Desired Characteristics Active team working capabilities Strong communication skills Highly motivated passionate curious and enthusiastic about engineering challenges Technical presentation skills (synthesis or details according to audience) Clear thinking system mindset and solving skills What we offer Smart working and work life-balance Avio Aero when possible promotes smart work in hybrid mode and encourages a good healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
