MATERIAL SURFACE EXPERIMENTATION INTERN – TEXTILE FOCUS

We are seeking a curious, hands-on intern to join our team and support the exploration and development of new materials, techniques, and fabric treatments.
This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys getting creative with their hands and is excited about exploring unconventional methods in surface development.
The successful candidate should be a team player and thrive in a collaborative environment, but also be able to independently complete tasks.
Key Responsibilities.
• Experiment with various materials such as paints, resins, moulding compounds, jewellery making and fabrics.
• Support the development of unique fabric treatments, including weaving, distressing, layering, and other surface manipulations.
• Document experiments and material combinations thoroughly with photos, notes, and references for future development.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace conducive to creative experimentation.
• Collaborate with other team members on ideas and material exploration for new projects.
Required Skills & Qualities.
• Enjoys experimenting with materials and creating new textures and surfaces, both independently and following direction.
• Strong interest in material craftsmanship, surface design, and textile manipulation.
• Not afraid to get hands-on, test unconventional methods, and explore new techniques.
• Familiarity with or a willingness to learn to use tools such as paints, resins, glues, fabrics, and moulds.
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail in creating and documenting samples.
• Proactive, open-minded, and adaptable in a creative studio environment.
• Languages.
Fluent in both English and Italian (spoken and written).
This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates in.
• Textile design, fine arts, material design, or related fields, eager to explore unconventional techniques and contribute to innovative surface development.
•Previous experience interning in a textile or creative studio.
