RESEARCHER IN THE FIELD OF SUSTAINABLE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS

Eurac Research operates two laboratories dedicated to testing heating and cooling system and are equipped to assess individual components as well as complete systems, integrating heat pumps, district heating substations, thermal storage units, and more.
Currently we are setting up a third laboratory aimed to investigate operation and performance of hybrid heat pump systems.
A quality management system has been implemented to manage the laboratories according to EN ISO ; one of the laboratories is accredited to perform tests according to the standards EN , EN , EN , and EN .
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing activities in the new laboratory, working closely with both researchers and technicians.
Additionally, in collaboration with the quality manager and the laboratory's quality referent, the candidate will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the quality management system, including the application and revision of quality procedures.
As such, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in terms of both managing laboratory infrastructure and quality assurance processes.
Tasks.
With respect to the Hybrid Heat Pumps Laboratory To manage and be responsible for the continuous development of the laboratory.
To supervise the execution of the tests performed, analyse and report the data gathered.
To manage the communication and collaboration with customers.
For the entire set of laboratories mentioned above To review and elaborate technical test and calibration procedures.
To support the quality manager with quality process implementation.
Requirements.
Education.
Master degree in either energy engineering or industrial engineering.
Experience.
Practical experience in the installation, management, and/or maintenance of HVAC and electrical systems.
Technical skills.
Excellent data analysis capacity; proficiency in operating and developing code in NI Labview, Python and Excel; basic knowledge in process quality assessment and implementation based on EN ISO .
Soft skills.
Team working attitude, motivation to learn and personal initiative.
Language.
Good knowledge of English.
Excellent knowledge of Italian or German.
