Job Description Since , Takeda has had two sites in Italy for producing plasma-derived drugs in Rieti and Pisa, supporting patients with rare and complex diseases.
These sites focus on the production of therapies derived from immunoglobulins, albumin, and coagulation factors.

About the role.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will manage and execute local data science initiatives to improve productivity not limited to data availability enhancement, process modeling using ML tools, digital twins.
Identifies local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local team, DD&T, Engineering, Quality and global Data Science.
How you will contribute.
Provide technical support to manufacturing processes, investigation, yield optimization, process monitoring and support internal and/or external functional/ multifunctional teams in trouble shooting and problem solving Identify patterns, trends and anomalies in batch data providing valuable insights into process variability, process performance and product quality Support and drive the Manufacturing Science department activities (i.
.
yield improvement projects, process robustness initiatives, process monitoring and CPV) and the site initiatives (i.
.
cycle time reduction projects) with advanced data analysis (Machine Learning) and promote use off the shelf data analysis software (Minitab, SIMCA, Qlik, …) Drive and support local digital data science initiatives according to prioritization (e.
.
Yield Improvement, real-time monitoring, predictive process performance etc.).
Expand and unlock new knowledge for effective process monitoring and process improvement optimizations (e.
.
descriptive statistics and visualization, statistical process control, out-of-the-box-tools).
Provide technical support to manufacturing processes, investigation, yield optimization and process monitoring with advanced data analysis.
Own and maintain Manufacturing Science/ Manufacturing related dataset Manage investigations and support internal and/or external functional/ multifunctional teams in trouble shooting and problem solving Translate business problems into opportunities and effectively communicate findings with stakeholders.
Gathers and identify local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local team, DD&T, Engineering, Quality and global GMS data science.
Supports and participates in global/functional/local GMS data science community Support in maintaining the GMP archive for the group, including responsibility of document withdrawal and destroy Responsible for day-to-day operation of local data science function, covering all data science levels and related technologies.
What you bring to Takeda.
Master or PhD degree in technical/scientific education, preferably pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics or pharma - process engineering Previous experience in Data Analysis (3 years) Proven experience in statistics, data analysis or equivalent academic experience/course record.
Proven knowledge of six-sigma and DMAIC methodology  Good written and spoken Italian and English mandatory Mathematical and Statistical Knowledge Experience in coding skills es in Python/R (preferred) Proficiency in database languages (SQL), understanding of data models and databases Expertise and experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning, Big Data and Digital (preferred) Proven experience in statistics, data analysis or equivalent academic experience/course record.
