SENIOR FINANCIAL LINES - D&O UNDERWRITER Based in Milan and reporting directly to the Liability Team, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the D&O business risks into the Italian market.
With strong ties to the Group Commercial Leader for D&O as well as the Head of Financial Lines, you will also support the D&O country strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets.
You will be also the contact person for agents and/or brokers working with the Financial Lines team.
Key Responsibilities • Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end to end underwriting life cycle • Communicate local business strategy externally • Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines • Steer and control the D&O portfolio at local level in conjunction with the Head of Liability to drive the achievement of financial targets • Work closely with Sales departments, Claims and other product lines to achieve key strategies, including cross-selling • Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework • Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products • Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing one (including agent and broker negotiations) Key Requirements/Skills/Experience • Master's degree in Law or Business • At least 5 years' experience underwriting profitable Financial Lines business, D&O mainly, for Corporate Clients • Preference if also experienced in PI / PI Tech / Cyber business • Proven leadership skills • Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle • Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills • Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings • Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects • Entrepreneurial mindset • Strong communication skills • Able to work in an international organization • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) • Very good knowledge in Office 365 and other collaborative tools • DATA REPORTING BASICS Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
