We are looking for a talented Technical Engineer with approximately 2-5 years of experience to join our Engineering and Operations team in Rome. The candidate will be responsible for the technical development, design review, and implementation support of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across Italy. This role involves close collaboration internally with the BD team and externally with developers, EPC contractors, and local authorities to ensure compliance with Italian regulations and European standards.
Mission
● Support the technical design and engineering of PV and BESS systems from feasibility to commissioning.
● Review and validate electrical and civil engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
● Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project specifications are met.
● Conduct site assessments, grid connection studies, and technical due diligence.
● Ensure compliance with Italian grid codes, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements.
● Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and BoQs.
● Monitor project progress and provide technical support during development, construction and commissioning phases.
● Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select equipment and suppliers.
Profile
● Degree in Geography, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
● Approximately 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.
● Proven experience in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent).
● Familiarity with geospatial data formats and standards (Shapefiles, GeoTIFFs, KML, etc.).
● Familiarity with Italian energy regulations, grid connection processes, and permitting.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, or similar design tools.
● Strong understanding of electrical systems, energy storage technologies, and SCADA systems.
● Willingness to travel to project sites across Italy.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.
● Good command of English; knowledge of Italian is a plus.
