In this role I am managing a cross functional department made of mechanical, electronic engineers, planners and project managers with feasibility engineers with a total amount of 14 resources. I have the responsibility of both engineering to order projects and catalogue products over the entire lifecycle from concept to entry into production including cost, profit & loss, quality and deliveries overseen by the project managers.

I participate to the elaboration of the economic offers by verifying the technical feasibility of the projects to support Commercial departments over the entire warranty period of the product.

I manage with my team the research activities and I have the responsibility of technical documentation and product configuration. I managed patents considering innovative and intellectual property aspects. All the products developed fully respect the current regulations related to railways and military standards and the machinery directives with the final release and signing of the CE product marking.

I have set up the budget for technical department and reached a P&L management as a Business unit at group level including resources located in different countries. I have created the main processes concerning new product introduction, engineering change, Project management plan, Financial process review and project visual management.

In this role I was managing a group of 22 resources split in mechanical, electronic design teams and technical order development team. I had the responsibility to develop the company's technological strategy in collaboration with the General Management to ensure the development and design of products, part of a larger system and / or plant and related mechanical / electronic components; I defined their functional and technical characteristics according to design to cost criteria. I have set up the new product introduction process through a phase & gate system that allows to track the business case, based on estimated recurring and non-recurring costs, in continuous alignment with other entities and medium-long term business strategies ensuring the industrial products alignment to make / buy strategic choices; enabling also an adequate engineering, prototyping and industrialization process with a robust design perspective and applied lean process concepts.

I coordinated the technical tasks and standard order activities in collaboration with different project managers participating to planning, proposing suitable solutions to increase internal company synergies. I participated to the elaboration of the economic offers by verifying the technical feasibility of the projects to support Commercial departments till the monitoring of product KPIs ensuring the respect of the order budgets.

I managed with my team, the research activities in partnership with external companies, universities and research institutes, the consultants, collaboration and professional assignments; I also checked the economic / technical alignment also ensuring the timely and correct report process highlighting cost variance analysis reports. I reviewed together with senior engineers technical drawings, inbound and outbound orders, ensuring the correct flow of technical and technological information, with focus on timing and criticality of development and standard order programs.
I had the responsibility of updating technical manuals relating to industrial products, spare parts and first installation procedure manuals. I managed patents and trademarks considering innovative and intellectual property aspects.

My team has the ownership to ensure that all systems and machineries fully respect the current regulations and the machinery directives with the final release and signing of the CE product marking

Leading a team of 8 engineers and technicians within the Sourcing/strategic organization. 6 of them act as focal points for both technical and commercial aspects cross the entire organization and 2 are focused on „should cost“ estimations. In this role my team and I are the connection point between suppliers, quality, manufacturing and engineering teams, looking at „on-time delivery“, costs and strategic decisions, supporting in CAPEX decisions the business as well. My contribution in new projects starts from „desing to cost“ analyses to submit offer to customers till final Entry into service of products from a fullfilment, strategy and MTC stand point. It continues in the Serial production supporting the cost-out opportunities program related cross the Sourcing Organisation and different commodities (double Sources, share adjustments and LTA definition) and proceeds supporting the engineering on the cost opportunities. In that role is also required a wide interconnection between suppliers and direct customers.

Test facility leader. Coordination of all aspects related to the test facility: resources coordination (electricians, mechanics, instrumental control and DAS technicians), erection, installation activities, commissioning and running of PLC, power centers, supervision of EHS rules and LOTO procedures, problem solving during erection and testing, synergy of various units (mechanical and electro-instrumental, logistics), test procedures definition, test execution, writing reports. This role requires also decision making in capex and investments related to the facility.
Technical leader in the conceptual design of both rotating (discs and buckets) and static (casings and exhaust plenum) hot components for gas turbines and expanders. Coordination of global resources (Poland and India) involved in designing, structural and life (LCF, HCF and creep) assessments. Trade off studies regarding feasibility and costs in the conceptual phase.
Definition of test and related procedures with final data post-processing.

Design engineer of engine structural components (6, 8 and 12 cylinders) for both automotive and naval applications (motor blocks and heads, crankshafts, brackets, connecting rods and pistons) from conceptual phase to serial introduction, throughout the testing phase. Part of the standardization team for the CAD model structurization.
