Pr, digital communication, social media, event organising

While working in the digital department of Cambodia's national newspaper I was responsible for the following duties: editing and creating daily national, business, sports and lifestyle stories; writing my own pieces and create them independently in the company's CMS; running the organisation's social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram); editing videos that the organisation's video team had created for the Khmer version of the website using Adobe Premiere; preparing and sending out the daily newsletter; creating photo galleries for the website; creating new content for the website and social media. Working at the Phnom Penh Post enhanced my knowledge of social media, advertising and online journalism.

While working at Internazionale I was part of the online team. My duties included the following: writing and publishing one or two articles everyday, mainly on international affairs, politics and events taking place around the world, focusing particularly on developing countries; writing and publishing preview articles of cultural events taking place in Italy and abroad; collaborating with the social media manager in order to find new strategies to share the online content on various social media platforms; sending out the daily newsletter via Telegram, selecting the most important articles of the day and also the ones that would attract a bigger audience. This experience was highly formative, both on a personal and professional level. My writing and research skills were largely improved.

While working at the United Kingdom's biggest arts and culture magazine, I was in charge of the following duties: writing and publishing preview articles on cultural events taking place in the United Kingdom and elsewhere; taking part to the organisation of the Aesthetica Art Prize exhibition (www.aestheticamagazine.com/art-prize/); collaborating and communicating with the artists; running Aesthetica's Facebook and Pinterest accounts; writing Q&As for international artists; updating the magazine's databases. This job introduced me to the PR side of the publishing industry, which contributed to broaden my horizons.

During my collaboration with Italian Kingdom, I was assigned to the web radio show. My duties included helping in the search for guest speakers which were relevant to the audience; writing articles presenting the forthcoming speakers and research new content and material for the website. I was also an occasional speaker on the show, which highly improved my knowledge of the radio world and my communication skills.

During the time spent working at Ink-Global I have had the chance to work with a number of magazines. These include Traveller Magazine (EasyJet), Hemispheres (United Airlines) and N (Norwigian Airlines). Beside producing pieces of written work such as hotels' and restaurants' previews, I had the opportunity to assist art editors and photographers on photo-shoots and for the creation of magazine covers. I was also in charge of doing research for potential content for the future issues of the magazine and communicate with press offices of music artists, hotels and restaurants. My ability to professionally communicate with various agencies and companies, was greatly improved by this experience.

While working at Hearst, I had the opportunity to experience a vibrant enviornment in London. My tasks involved: writing stories for the online version of Reveal Magazine; researching material for news stories; transcribing interviews; filing newspapers and magazines; general organising and planning duties.

During the time spent working at this local paper I had the opportunity of assisting reporters on a number of jobs, from Court cases to more 'light hearted' events. In particular, my job included: news gathering, copy writing, phone interviews, vox pops, press release writing and interviews for feature articles. This experience improved my ability to engage with different types of job and to be more confident in my professional performance.

When I worked at The independent in London, I was mainly assigned to The i desk (the compact version of the newspaper). Everyday I produced the 'Opinion Matrix' page, which required me to research extensively on a number of topics (selected by me) on different publications from around the world. My duties also included writing articles for The Independent on Sunday; transcribing interviews; researching for news stories; contacting PR offices for interviews; updating databases. This job introduced me to the newspaper's professional environment.
