 To whom it may concern,
my name is Agnese Caprara and I am graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at La Sapienza University of Rome, with full marks. The main fields of my course of study were structures-propulsion and aerodynamics. I focused my master thesis in structural testing and modal analyses from ground and flight data. This work lasted 10 months and was carried out in collaboration with the Italian Military Air Force. The main aims of the thesis were to assess the application of Operational Modal Analyses techniques on a third generation aircraft (AMX) and to propose a new methodology for an automated tracking of modes. First Ground Vibration Tests have been carried out on a scale model of the Russian YAK monoplane and then on the AMX aircraft. Traditional experimental modal analysis techniques have been used for the estimation of the modal parameters in ground conditions. Also flight tests have been carried out and Operational Modal Parameters techniques have been applied on the recorded data. I also developed Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) algorithms in Matlab language, in order to propose a new method for an automatic estimation of natural modes, in different operating conditions of the aircraft. My passion for the structural field has grown especially during my work of thesis. For the latter I chose a challenging subject, which gave me a great satisfaction, especially for the huge amount of notions that I learned. In fact, I had the possibility to develop all the ground experimental campaigns and the analyses for both data from GVTs and flight tests. I faced this experience with seriousness and commitment, but also with great curiosity and pleasure in dealing with topics that were very interesting to me. During the master's degree I also carried out vibration tests on different structures, from simple beams and plates, to helicopter blades, small satellites and aircraft scale models. However, I am equally interested in other areas of the structural field. In fact I am currently doing an internship at Pilatus Company for the fatigue certification of the PC-24 aircraft. In this period I am responsible for the validation of the analytical assumptions made for the fatigue mission of the PC-24, through the use of flight data. My role deals with the post-processing of experimental data for the estimation of flight parameters and load spectra. This validation process requires to generate scripts for the analysis of data in languages like Famos, to perform crack grow analyses, to use CAD models in NX and to write official documents. Furthermore, a constant interaction with the other departments is needed, in order to solve new daily issues and to produce Quality Notifications, which makes my role active and allows me to deal with several aspects of the aeronautical field. In general, I try to work independently, but I am also used to work in team, collaborating and interacting with my colleagues in the development of a project. These skills are the result, not only of projects carried out during the University, but also of experiences made during some national and international engineering competitions, to which I participated. For the latter, teamwork has proved to be fundamental and has led me to achieve great results and to win prizes. I like doing my job well and also presenting it appropriately. I am therefore very skilled for example in developing Power Point presentations and in editing images. I would like to work in an international company where I can put my knowledge into practice and develop new skills. I am free to move during my employment period for short periods. I hope that my profile will be in line with what your company requests.
Yours sincerely
Agnese Caprara
