t/) is an innovation lab jointly created by IIT and INAIL todevelopnew high-tech prosthetic, orthotic, and rehabilitation devices of highsocial impact and market potential.
The Lab is dedicated to revolutionizing the field of medical robotics to enhance the lives of patients with spinal cord injuries and orthopedic and neurological upper limb impairments.
n recent years, the laboratory has acquired a strong expertise in the idealization, design, development, and testing with patients of prosthetic and rehabilitative exoskeleton devices.
The most well-known devices include Hannes, a poly articulated prosthetic hand, and Twin, an exoskeletal device for patients with spinal cord injuries.
However, recent developments have also led to the creation of Float, an upper limb exoskeleton for shoulder rehabilitation, and an ankle and knee prosthesis.
he activities of the Postdoctoral candidate will be conducted within the framework of the ClinicExo project, which highlights two of our leading devices.
TwinMED, an exoskeleton for lower limbs designed to assist individuals with spinal cord injuries, and FloatEVO, an exoskeleton for upper limbs tailored for those with shoulder and elbow injuries.
The project aims to validate the clinical effectiveness of TwinMED and FloatEVO, conduct their Health Technology Assessment (HTA), explore innovative rehabilitation protocols, and develop advanced clinical measurement methodologies.
These devices will serve as integral components of the hospital centers where our clinical partners are actively involved in the project.
he successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative algorithms to enhance the functionalities of the exoskeleton devices.
Specifically, the candidate will have access to various add-ons (such as smart crutches, VR, etc.) to advance state-of-the-art rehabilitative control methods.
Additionally, the candidate will actively participate in team and project activities and support the laboratory%27s overall operations.
Candidates should be able to collaborate effectively within a large and multidisciplinary team.
