ECONOMETRICS AND STATISTICAL MODELING SPECIALIST

Among the European leaders in Enterprise Risk Management and Wealth & Asset Management solutions, Prometeia is seeking candidates for its Bologna office to join the scenario modelling competence line team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain econometric models to support scenario analysis on macroeconomic trends, credit risk, and financial market developments.
Conduct quantitative analysis for banking clients, providing insights on economic, financial, and banking scenarios, with a particular focus on the definition of alternative and stress scenarios.
Prepare clear reports, notes, and presentations to communicate results to clients and internal stakeholders.
Work with economic and financial data from official statistics, market sources, and client data.
Support the delivery of research and advisory services tailored to the needs of banks.
Collaborate with colleagues of Prometeia's internal research departments for model development, documentation, and result interpretation.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies and internal tools, supporting their implementation in proprietary software solutions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
Master's degree or PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
2+ years of experience in economic modelling, financial analysis, or applied econometrics, preferably in an institutional or financial sector context.
Solid knowledge of financial markets, monetary policy, and macroeconomic frameworks.
Proficiency in econometric software such as Python, Stata, R, E-views, or Matlab.
Previous work in a central bank, financial institution, think tank, or similar setting is an advantage.
SOFT SKILLS.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to methodological rigor.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Proactive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
Flexible mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
