FELLOWSHIP ON DC-RSD SENSORS FOR 4D TRACKING

he INFN of Florence is deeply involved in many world-leading areas of high energy physics, both on the experimental and theoretical fronts.
n particular this fellowship will be carried out in the context of the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC.
The development of the innovative technology of DC-RSD sensors is in fact one of the key R&Ds that could be possibly exploited for a further upgrade of the silicon pixel tracker of the CMS detector in the future high luminosity phase of LHC (HL-LHC).
he successful candidate is expected to work in the aforementioned research area with the goal of developing and characterizing DC-RSD sensors, as well as implementing cutting-edge Machine Learning based algorithms for the reconstruction of the particle 4D (position and time) information.
he fellowships will be based in Florence (Italy) and the initial contract will be for one year, with renewal to a second year provided adequate performance and based on mutual agreement.
Further extensions with different contract typology can also be considered.
The yearly gross salary will correspond to the standard INFN salary scheme for a senior postdoc position.
equirementsIn order to apply the candidate needs to have a master degree in physics or engineering and should have good knowledge of silicon pixel detectors, as well as a base knowledge of the tools used in ML-oriented data analysis.
he candidate is as well expected to be keen on working in a interdisciplinary environment and exploit teamwork capabilities to fruitfully engage with collaborators.
