Italdesign is looking for a charismatic person, a great lover of challenges and innovation, especially in the automotive sector, with excellent management skills and strategic vision, who wants to join the new Italdesign office in the United States with the position of Head of Engineering. Responsibilities Interaction with customers, negotiate projects workloads, teams’ structures and deliverables; Build and manage the technical team, assess its performance and motivate their members to anticipate, manage critical situations and provide effective solutions; Manage workloads and priorities, coordinate between US and HQ, daily tasks accordingly with projects goals and company strategy; Give value to the competences of his/her employees and promote development and engagement for the company; Support the Engineering Department to prepare recommendations for Investments and Headcount to be submitted to Italdesign Management Committee for his/her field of responsibility; Active and responsible role in finding the best trade off in case of conflict between performances/boundary conditions, together with all the involved and relevant OU’s; Guarantee the robustness of the technical solutions adopted in product development process; Drive the growth of the team to a suitable size, in order to be able to cover new additional strategic projects; Manage the relationship between US technical team other Company’s OU; Supervise US technical team activities to meet budget requirements and deadlines; Set strategic targets, supervise and measure the progresses, making sure they are going in the given direction; Effective monitoring of the economic resources; Coordinate, harmonize and approve: - Personnel evaluation & development plan - Organisation changes - Project development budget before submitting them for the final approval to the relevant Committees Key requirements Proven experience in exterior and interior vehicle development processes in the automotive Experience in setting up and managing teams Excellent organization abilities to interface and coordinate complex multifunctional teams at multi levels Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.) Strong analysis and analytical ability Excellent communication skills Outstanding organizational and leadership skills Minimum 10 years of experience in similar role Preferential requirements Creativity, innovative mindset Familiar with economics figures and their management Problem-solving attitude Negotiation skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus Language skills: Fluent knowledge of English are required (written and spoken). Knowledge of Italian is a plus. German would be appreciated.
