he Udine group is an ATLAS member since the beginning of the programme and took part in the evaluation of the planar sensors used in the currently installed Pixel Detector.
More recently, the group participated to the the development of 3D pixel sensors for the Insertable B-Layer before being involved in its commissioning.
ithin the Italian INFN cluster, Udine will be one of the QC/QA centres for the ATLAS ITk hybrid pixel modules, mainly focussing on the planar devices to be installed in the detector endcap that will be built in Italy.
he main task of the successful candidate will be the development and operation of the ITk pixel module test facility in Udine.
The development work covers module data analysis, process optimisation and automation (detector control system software, database services, quality control procedures).
The position is intended to cover the final steps of the preparation phase and extends to the full duration of the production phase, granting an excellent visibility and opportunities to report at international conferences.
A fraction of the time could also be devoted to software development or physics analysis.

in Physics or Engineering and experience in detector instrumentation.
As an alternative, the position could be assigned to junior applicants holding a Master-level degree in Physics or Engineering obtained not earlier than two years before the call deadline.
he selected candidate will be based in Udine, Italy, with possible visits to CERN and other sites of the Italian INFN cluster as needed for the project.
The contract is intended to start in summer , with some flexibility as required.
The initial appointment is for two years with a possible extension of an additional year.
