We are seeking a talented Power Electronics Engineer with expertise in hardware and/or firmware development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power electronics design AND/OR experience in firmware development for power systems control. Design, simulate, and optimize power electronic circuits and systems for various applications, including converters, inverters, rectifiers, etc. Develop hardware designs from concept to production, including schematic capture, component selection, layout design, and prototyping. Conduct performance analysis, characterization, and testing of power electronic hardware to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware engineers, mechanical engineers, and system architects, to integrate power electronics systems into larger products or systems. Develop embedded firmware for real-time control of power electronic converters, implementing control algorithms, fault detection, and protection mechanisms. Program microcontrollers and digital signal processors (DSPs) using programming languages such as C/C++ to implement control algorithms and interface with hardware peripherals. Conduct firmware testing and debugging using simulation tools, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups, and laboratory equipment. Collaborate with software engineers to develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs) or communication protocols for interfacing with power electronics systems. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in power electronics and firmware development, applying relevant advancements to improve product offerings. Support product validation, certification, and regulatory compliance activities, working closely with quality assurance and certification teams. Place: Gallarate Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field. Proven experience in power electronics design, including proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, simulation, and testing. Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, diodes), magnetics, and passive components used in power electronic circuits. Experience with power converter topologies (buck, boost, flyback, LLC, etc.) and control techniques (PWM, voltage-mode control, current-mode control). Proficiency in PCB design software (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, etc.) and simulation tools (PSIM, LTspice, PLECS, etc.). Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment for power electronics testing and measurement (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, etc.). Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems, with experience in real-time firmware development and debugging. Familiarity with microcontroller architectures, peripherals, and communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently on assigned tasks.
