We also provide training and education to 150 young people each year who find mainstream education more difficult, as well as high-quality childcare within our community. Can you coach, support them and deliver 1 to 1 and small group sessions to asst them in developing their Maths and English skills towards gaining a level 2 functional skills or GCSE qualification? In order to change lives YMCA Derbyshire, run and market a number of commercial and support services to support a whole range of different young people. As an English or Maths Tutor you will be responsible for the delivery of 1 to 1 and small group sessions to support young people who are resitting their GCSEs in Maths and English ensuring that gaps in their knowledge identified from diagnostic tests are bridged and to build their confidence in exam techniques. This will involve planning, preparing, and delivering sessions, and developing innovative training resources that will engage learners and creating individual learning plans. Ideally you will have the following: - AET (Award in Education and Training) or equivalent Experience of delivering 1 to 1 and small group tutoring sessions Experience of working with disaffected 16 – 19-year-olds Experience of coaching and supporting young people to secure positive outcomes. Level 3 qualification in the subject you are applying to teach or relevant experience that demonstrates knowledge to this level. A full driving licence and use of a car is desirable.
