Position Summary.
The Sr.
Manager, Key Opinion Leaders/ US Academic Institutions is a field-based member of the Global Professional Relations team within Medical Affairs.
This key position will serve as a strategic link between Johnson and Johnson Surgical Vision and identified Ophthalmologist’s recognized as Key Opinion Leaders within Academic Institutions, while also developing relationships with Program Chair’s/Directors in each program.
Additionally, this position will have added focus on select Ophthalmologist’s within Private Practice settings too.
The Sr.
Manager, Key Opinion Leaders/ US Academic Institutions is responsible for leading our Professional Relationships with thought leaders in identified Teaching Programs, as well, in associated accounts as assigned.  Additional responsibility will be to support all customer engagement and educational needs, ongoing relationship development, and identifying best practices with all JJSV technologies.
This person will make significant contributions to the overall success of strategic initiatives developed by the Global Professional Relations team, while supporting the development and appropriate use/adoption of JJSV products through evidence-based scientific exchange and by seeking external insights to further inform and shape the company’s understanding of the products, and clinical practice of each.
Essential Responsibilities.
·       Identification, and meaningful engagement/relationship development with Academic and regionally assigned Thought Leaders aligned with the advancement of JJSV products and technologies rooted in clinical, medical, and scientific information.
·       Provide Medical / Clinical support for targeted customers.
·       Develop and lead key product presentations to demonstrate the benefits to identified thought leaders while coordinating continuing educational workshops, seminars and programs for KOL’s, other ECP’s and staff ·       Proactively identify potential solutions to address internally and externally recognized opportunities for medical information, and unmet needs ·       Assist in developing and gathering novel insights that provide opportunities for clinical studies, while also establishing and maintaining personal expertise in relevant clinical/technical areas, including best practices ·       Organize and review creation of educational, promotional, and reporting materials for use within the company's products ·       Establishes clear and certain alignment with Head, US Teaching Programs on roles and responsibilities Qualifications Qualifications.
Required.
·       BS or BA in Business / Health Care Management or Related Field      ·       A minimum of 5 years clinical work experience in the field of Ophthalmology and/or related industry ·       A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a customer facing role ·       Open to % travel (regionally based in the US) ·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and associated hardware ·       Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong time management and administrative management skills.
·       Must be able to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
·       Excellent presentation skills and strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred.
