About Role.
Our Global Tax team is a key business partner in growing shareholder value while complying with regulations in 100+ countries.
The shifting global tax landscape and accelerating digitization makes innovation and transformation essential.
Therefore, Gartner is building an internal Tax Technology and Automation Group.
This role will report to the Senior Director of Tax Technology and Automation.
As a Tax Technology Manager, you will be a business partner in this exciting, world class organization and support Gartner's continued growth and success.
We are looking for ambitious individuals with outstanding, proven analytical capabilities and intellectual curiosity who enjoy partnering with business leaders to grasp large complex financial data and develop clear business solutions.
  This newly created Tax Technology Manager position will be responsible for technology initiatives to transform, streamline and maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the global tax function.
What you’ll do.
Manage projects and teams to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that address the specific needs of the tax department.
Deliver high quality visualizations and analytics using the Microsoft Power technology stack.
Architect Microsoft Power platform-based solutions, primarily focused on Power BI Develop and maintain advanced interactive capabilities based on Microsoft Power platform, leveraging low-code tools including Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate Perform data modelling and data flow design using, Alteryx, Power BI and related Azure tools Drive digital transformation and automation through the development of technology solutions, process improvements, system automation, data management, or data analytics.
Collaborate with internal and external resources to identify optimization opportunities and transform raw data into actionable insights for the end-users.
Leverage scripting languages such as Python or R, or emerging technology, such as machine learning and AI, to drive continuous improvements.
Effectively communicate new technology and processes through proper documentation and training.
What you’ll need.
A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, data science, computer science, or Accounting and/or a master’s degree in related field 5+ years of experience in financial/tax automation A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Microsoft Power BI and related tools including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Query Strong technical knowledge especially in data management, data analytics and solution development Experience performing analysis, data transformation, financial modeling, and development tasks in Python or ETL tools such Alteryx Proficiency in leveraging databases and conducting complex data analysis using SQL queries and other relevant tools Expert knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
Power BI, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query, SQL Azure and Dataverse Strong project management skills Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Preferred qualifications Microsoft Power Platform certifications such as PL-200, PL-300, PL-400, PL-600, PL-900, DP-500 Alteryx Designer Advanced or Expert certification Experience implementing AI, machine learning or intelligent automation type projects Proficiency in utilizing APIs to integrate software applications and automate data exchange Proficiency in Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion ERP/EPM Working knowledge of Onesource Tax Provision, Corptax Returns and Monday.
