The Institute for Territorial Systems for Innovation is a no profit association established in 2002 by Politecnico di Torino and the Company of Sao Paolo, which carries out research and training activities aimed at innovation and socio-economic growth. The Institute works as an integrator of skills, with the aim of offering responses to the complex problems affecting the territory and its operating systems. Using the knowledge deriving by the direct with the scientific world of Academy researchers, other international Research Centers and Institutions, its activities focus on the following sectors: Logistics and transport, Environmental heritage and urban redevelopment, Environmental protection.

Since 2017, SiTI, with ISMB and LINKS has undertaken a review of its objectives, organization and processes in anticipation of the planned M&A operation. During 2018, among the first cases in Italy, the transformative merger process with which ISMB and SiTI merged into LINKS was undertaken and concluded, creating, from January 1st, 2019, the current LINKS Foundation.

The GM, reporting to the BoD, has the full authority for all the operations of the Institute and oversees the management of it. 

Among the main achievements, other the economic and financial outcomes that contributes to the current LINKS results, the review of the whole organization and processes it can be evidenced the management of the entire process of the transformative merger process, as one of the first case in Italy for foundation and associations.

LINKS is a research and innovation body, with an international aptitude, that operates within the Chain of Knowledge as a key element between the Academic world and the Society represented by enterprises, institutions and citizens. It, leading innovation processes and technological projects, wants to be a point of reference for organizations and companies that want to grow up by strengthening their competitiveness, developing cutting-edge technologies and implementing innovative processes. 
ISMB, SiTI and LINKS have taken on a review of their organization and processes in preparation for the planned M&A operation that has been undertaken and concluded in 2018.  
The GM, reporting to the BoD, exercises all the powers needed to the run of the company, He is responsible for the strategy implementation. for the organization and operations and for budget definition, management control and the annual balance sheet and P&L preparation.
Some achievements are:
- Implementation of a structured management control system, adoption of PM techniques and HR strategies with deployment and strengthening of dedicated processes and tools. A managerial culture based on clear, of impact and development targets as well as economic sustainability and concepts of responsibility and delegation has been developed. Reorganized the Research Areas by domains and technologies; new areas started in domains like AI, mobility, I4.0 and cyber security.
- Stabilization and growth of the P&L with a significant increase in revenue by projects. It has led the self-financing share to settle more than 55%.
- LINKS is in the top ten Italian institutions, by number of research projects in the H2020 program, and the first by revenue per employee with a success rate of 23%, compared with an EU average of 18%. 
-  LIFTT srl, a company which main objective is to valorize the research results, was set up, and were acquired company shares of I3P and 2I3T, Incubator of Polytechnic and University in Turin.

The Istituto Superiore Mario Boella is an Applied research and Innovation Center focused on Information and Communication Technologies. It is a  no profit institution founded in 2000 by the Compagnia di San Paolo and Polytechnic of Turin. The Institute working in close collaboration with the companies, the academies and the public administrations, operates as knowledge generator and technology finalizer by offering innovation based on both the participation of ISMB in European thematic platforms and on direct contact with the scientific world.

The Institute target is to be an international reference for the transfer of knowledge and technology to the market contributing to the growth of the socio-economic system by linking private, public, and non-profit worlds and by activating global processes and projects with significant impacts on the territory.

Plastlab

Plastlab is a test, validation and research laboratory specialized in materials, both plastic and metal, test analysis, characterizations, validation and failure analysis of process and product. He is specialized in tests and measurements according to international and / or customer regulations aimed at checking conformity of materials and components, both in the development phase and in the production control phase. He also provides specific consultancy services aimed at the choice of materials, geometries and processes, possibly accompanied by tests and measurements, and study of the critical issues and non-compliance causes found during the production, Quality Control and / or use of components on materials and on the finished product. Plastlab also has deep knowledge in paints and surface treatments.
Part of the mission of the laboratory is also the training activity with the organization of courses and seminars regarding issues related to materials and processes.
The President convenes and chairs the Board of Directors, coordinates its activities, represents the company externally and is the guarantee authority of its correct functioning. He is also:
•	Responsible for defining corporate strategies, economic and financial results and company balance sheet
•	He reports to the shareholders board.
Main Achievements: 
	The income statement has been consolidated with a constant increase in turnover, year on year, bringing it today to the € 1,000,000 threshold. Important actions have been taken on cost containment and drastic reduction of debt.
	New types of tests and specifications have been developed to keep the laboratory always at the cutting edge, (latest implementations in the field of flammability); consequently increased the customer portfolio and diversified areas of collaboration.
	Obtaining ISO 17025 certification.

2012 - 2016
Italian group leader in Automotive Components, tier one supplier specialized in Exhaust Systems, Air Engine Systems, Metal and plastic tanks and, in general, plastic and metal. International presence with 8 plants in Italy and 3 in Europe with the aim of taking on a strong multinational connotation.
The role, other the usual responsibilities for a GM, was also including the development oif product strategies and roadmaps, support to the company internationalization and manage the product innovation and the related research projects.
Main Achievements: 
-	Defined the product development strategy based on the opening of new international markets, the evolution of the products portfolio, the transition from a component vision to that of a system and integrator perspective. They were developed skills in the mechatronic domain, opened local offices to support new customers, developed targeted partnerships and analysis of new products starting from known technologies. 
-	In terms of internationalization, the first market developed was India with the consolidation of two joint ventures and expansion on the Asian market. It made it possible to open an R&D office in Pune (India) to support local customers and integrate the design capacity of the R&D Center.
-	New markets also started in North America, by developing partnerships in Canada and the USA as well as in South America through its own partner in Brazil. In both cases, a Cornaglia technical settlement was also planned.
-	Structured the process of innovation and evolution of the product with a dedicated team and the opening of its own office within the campus of the Politecnico di Torino. The intellectual property management process has also been implemented (average of 5 patents per year, 6 patents filed in 2014).
-	Structured the product development process through the adoption of six sigma methodologies, project management and expanding the use of simulation technologies.

2009 - 2011
Concept Reply, R & D Center specialized in TLC and ITC. The Company was born from Reply's acquisition of Motorola's R&D Center in Turin to develop in the IoT domain new and innovative communication concepts.
I had to manage the acquisition process and integration in the new company and the activation of social safety nets to support unemployment; the selection of redundant staff for Concept and the support for its relocation, relations with trade unions and the public administration, participation in the definition of the Business Plan.
Responsible for the operational management of Concept Reply, the budget, the economic and financial management and the objectives, i considering that it was a startup of180 engineers and technicians and around € 16 million budget. 
Main achievements: 
-	Managed with Motorola Inc. and Reply Spa the negotiation for the M&A and all the activities necessary for the agreement and its implementation; defined, in agreement with the Reply, the Concept Reply business plan, the development plan and the necessary resources. Manage the redundancies by relocating all excess resources.
-	Concept Reply start-up, a particular case of start-up since composed by 180 employees; structured the company on 3 separate business units (Engineering Services, Test and Quality Assurance and Funded Research), exceeded the 2010 economic objectives (+ 20% of turnover on the expected) and reached the break even in 2011.
-	Definition and implementation of the new hw \ sw platform "Internet of things", m2m" communications using different digital technologies. 
-	Applications developed on this platform in various areas, eg: micro-payments via mobile phone, indoor and outdoor localization, indoor and outdoor "asset tracking", energy management, smart city and smart office, management and control of people and queues.
-	Start-up and consolidation of three BU: Research Projects, Engineering Services and Test and Certification 
-	ISO 17025 certification

R & D Center, part of the Cellular Division, (400 employees, 200 contractors, 55M€ turnover) set up to support EMEA market and to develop products for the global market.
As GM, managing all the operations and the economic and financial matter, I was also: 
-	Member of the "European Technical Board of Directors” and of the Italian Country Council
-	Responsible for relations with the public administration, universities and press officers. 
-	Responsible for the coordination of the other 4 R&D center in EMEA
-	Member of the Stakeholders board of ISMB 
-	Member of the Board of “PhD school” of the Turin Polytechnic
Main achievements:
-	They were developed 40+ different mobile models, has actively participated to the main sw platforms and has become the "Global Competence Center" in various engineering domains; 20M€ in lab’s some of which were unique in Europe; 25+ active patents
-	Reorganized the Motorola Mobile product development methodology by organizing for Product Teams and not by development domains (mechanical, electronic or SW)
-	First site rewarded with the "Motorola Quality President Award" and the "Motorola President Award for Innovation".
-	First western European company grant with CMMI level 5..
-	First development center to deal with 3 and 3.5 generation mobile phones in addition to the headquarter  in Chicago and reference site in various sectors of mobile development (e.g. multimedia development, simulation, antenna development, photos and cameras, etc).
-	Management of staff reduction requests by proposing alternative plans, negotiated with the Headquarter, which have had the effect of minimizing the impact on staff. In 2008, when Motorola decided to leave Europe and shutdown all sites, including Turin, I negotiated to be able to look for an M&A operation. I managed to sell it, in the short time I had, to Reply, safeguarding almost all the jobs and transferring skills, valuable personnel and technologies to Reply and many other companies

Valeo - Security Systems - Europe Vehicle Door Handles Division
1997 - 2000
aleo SS acquired FIST, an owner company, leader on the Italian market for the door handle product, to annex  this prestigious reality within a large-scale multinational company.
I was entrusted with the task to facilitate and accelerate the integration process and the transition from a local vision to a multinational and international dimension while maintaining and developing technical and innovation skills.
The site become the Competence Center for the "Door Handle", responsible for the design and development, as well as all related research activities, for the product. In addition, given the considerable experience of the Division in the field of plastics, it was the Technological Competence Center for plastics materials.
The role was to be responsible for all the R&D operations and budget management; in addition to be:As  
-	Global Head for R&D and Innovation and technical support for all European production sites. 
-	Responsible of the "Technology Development Plan", document of mid-long term strategy, business and marketing analysis defining product roadmaps. 
Main achievements:
-	IP : 10+ patents filed, three of which were in my name
-	Key role in the transition of the local company in Valeo and in a global context with the implementation of new methodologies and processes and the development of new technologies such as the leadership taken on the "Hands Free" door opening system. 
-	The Italian R&D division was ranked, in the Quality audit 1st in the SS Division and in the top 10 globally.
-	Implemented standardization processes, of materials and components, since the design phase with significant cost reduction. FIST had more than 300 different plastic materials in stock reduced to 30. 
-	New markets developed in Europe, Asia and America. All product were managed from the center of Turin using local technical antennas that have been launched over time, in a strong internationalization and market development action, to support customers locally.
